Improvement of general specs of internal combustion engine, such as power curve improvement, fuel consumption, emission and combustion quality always has a purpose for engine designers. Turbocharging needs some changes in inlet port of cylinder head to achieve all of its advantages on better combustion quality and knock tendency reduction. So the geometry of engine inlet port is one the most important item to get this target. It produces the charge motion of in cylinder which is consisted of tumble and swirl motions. In this paper, port development of a turbo PFI engine beside of other affected gas exchange parameters is investigated. This paper explained the work method in three stages: flow bench test, 3D simulation and combustion test. The main target of port development for this case is tumble increment in parallel with minimum flow coefficient decrement. The results of engine test show 30% combustion duration reduction and significant power curve improvement.
