Abstract
The performance and fuel consumption are simulated for the vehicle equipped with manual transmission by GT in this research. The choice of gear ratio for legal compatibility and fuel consumption and performance targets is performed when the engine is finalized for powertrain system in the initial state of project. The important targets design selected as gradeability in 8–12–20–24 -30 (%), maximum speed (km/h), 0-100 km/h, in gear acceleration (s) in each gear and fuel consumption in this research. The four suggested gear ratios which available and produced by supplier are chosen and simulated, and the optimum gear ratios are selected by comparison with vehicle targets and design maturity. The experimentally results are used for the validation and the comparison between experimental and simulation results is done . Fuel consumption (l/100km) and 0-100 (Zero to on handreed kilometer-(s)) acceleration are simulated by 3.3% and 7.4 % error, respectively.
