In this study, the contact heat transfer through the exhaust valve and its seat has been solved in three dimensions using the inverse heat transfer method. The conjugate gradient method using a two-step search was used to solve the inverse problem. Simultaneously, the contact heat transfer coefficient and the exhaust heat transfer coefficient were estimated. The contact heat transfer coefficient was estimated fairly at first times however, the accuracy of the estimate increased by the time.
