A study of contact heat transfer problem in exhaust valve of internal ‎combustion engines

Abstract
In this study, the contact heat transfer through the exhaust valve and its seat ‎has been solved in three dimensions using the inverse heat transfer method. ‎The conjugate gradient method using a two-step search was used to solve the ‎inverse problem. Simultaneously, the contact heat transfer coefficient and the ‎exhaust heat transfer coefficient were estimated. The contact heat transfer ‎coefficient was estimated fairly at first times however, the accuracy of the ‎estimate increased by the time.‎
